7 Benefits Of Waking Up Early

Just me in my curlers and my bathrobe drinking coffee.

I have typically been a get up, get dressed and get out the door kind of gal until about 5{ish} months ago. I started waking up early. Like 2 hours early and you know what? It has been amazing!

Those 2 hours are so productive, peaceful and I actually look forward to it.

I know, I officially sound old.

My mornings go something like this..making my lunch, taking Beaux {the dog} out to potty, {I potty also but not in the front yard LOL}, checking in on social media and enjoying a cup of coffee,

There is such a peace to the quiet of a neighborhood in the early morning before anyone is stirring. Watching the darkness fade and the sun stream in through the blinds is a magical time. {I feel very John Boy Walton writing this}.

And sometimes {especially on Saturday mornings} I just sit, sip and enjoy the quiet.

When the weather is right {in South Louisiana it’s about 3 days} I love to sit on my patio and listen to the birds and watch the neighborhood come to life. I can actually recognize the sound of certain neighbors vehicles and Beaux lets me know when someone is exercising. Neither of us get that whole get up early to exercise mindset.

Ok, I officially sound old. Or maybe I am becoming wiser.

Maybe I see the value in time. Maybe I see the value in silence. Maybe I just like sitting in my bathrobe, with frothed coffee, using my ice roller and mentally gearing up for the day.

Whatever waking up early has done; I love being at a place where I know these little moments are just as important as the big moments.

Sometimes we lose sight of the simple pleasures because we are so focused on the next big thing.

So much joy happens in the simple everyday moments.

I was curious if waking up early had “real” benefits and I did a little research and sure enough it does!
